Actual Maths is built to be private by default. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no advertising. Every calculation runs inside your browser — the figures you enter are never sent to us or anyone else.

The short version

01 Who we are

Actual Maths is a suite of free UK money calculators — covering student loans, mortgages, car finance (PCP) and take-home pay. It is a product of Asantagram Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom.

For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Asantagram Ltd is the data controller for this website. In practice, though, the site is designed so that we collect as little as possible — ideally nothing that identifies you.

02 What we collect

When you use the calculators, the details you enter — your salary, loan balance, property price, and so on — are used only to perform the calculation in your browser. This information is never transmitted to us, stored on a server, or shared with any third party. When you close the tab or clear your browser data, it’s gone.

We don’t ask for your name, email, or any contact details to use the tools. We don’t run analytics that profile you, and we don’t use advertising networks.

03 Cookies & local storage

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We do use a small amount of your browser’s local storage — a private space on your own device — to make the tools more convenient. Because this storage is strictly necessary to provide the features you ask for, it doesn’t require a consent banner under UK rules.

WhatWhyWhere it lives
Tweaks & display preferences Remembers your chosen settings (such as currency format or chart style) so the tool looks the same next time. Your browser only
Scenario inputs Keeps the figures you entered so a page refresh doesn’t lose your work. Your browser only

You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this domain, or by using private/incognito mode. Doing so simply resets the tools to their defaults.

04 Third-party services

To keep the site fast and lightweight, a few resources are loaded from reputable content-delivery networks rather than bundled here:

  • Google Fonts — for the typefaces. Google may receive your IP address as part of serving the font files, as it would for any website using their fonts.
  • unpkg — serves the open-source libraries (React and Babel) that the calculators are built with.

These providers deliver static files only; the site sets no third-party tracking cookies through them. If you’d prefer, your browser’s privacy settings or extensions can block them — the calculators will still work.

05 Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over any personal data a company holds about you — including the right to access it, correct it, or have it deleted. Because Actual Maths doesn’t collect or store personal data about you, there is, in practice, nothing for us to hold, retrieve, or erase.

If you ever believe your data has been mishandled, you also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

06 Changes to this notice

If we ever add a feature that changes how data is handled — for example, optional analytics or saved accounts — we’ll update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent at that time.

Actual Maths provides information and estimates for guidance only — it is not financial advice. For decisions about your money, consider speaking to a qualified, regulated adviser.
